L***

L***, ©2012

It's a four-letter word and you're too good to say it

for delicate hearts it may break them in two

But there's plenty others who'll say it, whatever

So it'd be a nice thing to hear it from you

Sing me a l*** song

tell me I've been wrong

I'll say I know it's true

Say that you l*** me

it's not a long story

I'll say I l*** you too

I've heard every other and some euphemisms

My ears are accustomed to coarsest of words

But let no man mention (and heaven forbid them)

The Strictly Avoided, the Four-Letter word

What are the chances

You get all my dances

If only you ask for one more

Don't go off coldly

Talk to me boldly

This is the last open door

It's a four-letter word and you're too good to say it

You fear that the sky will come crashing on down

Well don't be afraid cuz we'll say it together

and hear the air crack with the shock of the sound

I've torn and misleading,

been tricking and cheating.

Facing my music I'm cursed

One word entre nous

that I want to tell you

But, you, have to say it first

It's a four-letter word and you're too good to say it

For risk that the porcelain falls to the ground

I'm not made of china so might as well shout it

Where flesh and blood breathe there is strength in the sound

L*** is a word and you're too good to say it

Oh! let your fears all fall dead to the ground

You've only one life so we'll say it together

And when you are gone I will still hear the sound.
