just a girl
She stared and what did she see
she saw a survivor
but everyone else just saw a girl
she, someone that had gone through pain
someone that had neared the point of no return
someone who cried herself to sleep
and yet she was still there
how many times had she held than knife to her wrist
how many times had she stared down her pills
how many times had she dreamed of sitting on railroad tracks
how many times had she felt a bullet escape the trigger from her own hand
and yet she was still there
In the mirror was this girl that didnt know she was beautiful
a girl that couldn't accept her flaws
a girl that had never felt an embrace that gave her butterflies
a girl that still had scars she would soon be unable to hide
a girl that wasnt good enough to be who she was
and yet she was still there
how much longer can she hold on
how much longer will she have to ignore her own feelings of hurt, fear, despair
how much longer will she have to keep a fake smile on her face
how much longer will she have to pretend to fit in
will you notice
when she's gone
when she's no longer just there
no..
bye.
