Just A Girl
Breathing
His hot breath on my neck, he’s
Deceiving those around him
Skin crawling, tears falling
Blows to the ribs, blows to the thighs
Why doesn’t anyone look into my eyes
And see the secrets written there?
“Boys will be boys”
When is it enough? When will it end?
That was years ago, when will I mend?
Actions have consequences is what they say
So when will the day come he pays?
I’m just a girl, trying to cope
I’m just a girl, holding onto hope
I’m just a girl, and my voice is loud
He’s not a man, just a coward.
