Just Like This

Location

Just like this, as we are now

That is how I'd like us to always be

Don't mistake it for stranded

Consider it - solitude...

Just you, me & the trees

You've got a flower stem

Wrapped carefully behind your ear

I feel the soft moss

Brushing against my bare back

I glance up at you

And though the sun will shortly set

Rays of light still pass through the trees

& it illuminates your face

Your flawless and naked body glows

We've been playing for so long

The sweat on our brow

Is only now begining to dry

"I'm exhausted" you say

I smile at your gleaming face

"Lay down on me" you say

"Let's rest just for a while"

I do as you say, moving carefully

I rest the right side of my face on your breast

& when I do this...

You rub your fingers through my hair

& then down my spine

In return, with my pointer finger

I draw a line from your lips to your navel

We hear crickets chirping, birds singing

Even the creek down the way makes noise

Water slowly running with the current

Pushing it's way over pebbles and brush

"Hmmm..." you sigh

Smiling, I grace your lips with mine

Then resume to my resting position

The sounds of nature form a lullaby

& sweetly we drift into a deep sleep

Our bodies, unclothed, the way God intended

Lay next to one another, in a deep slumber

Just like that, as we are now

That is how I would like us to always be
