John Doe

Your kisses turned to awkward glances and hateful stares,

Your words turned to bullets damaging my ego with every venom soaked sentence.

Your promises.

Your “i will never leave you” “i love you” promises, broken.

It seemed like everyone around could see our relationship on my forehead.

My name went from a heart studded notebook cover to a sloppy handwritten scribble at the bottom of your list of mistakes.

Your once soft hands turned into steel, making my being colder with every touch.

It seemed like you had a replacement before i was even vanquished,

Telling her the same promises you told me.

You left me and took my heart with you, leaving it abandoned on the side of the road.

You drown your feelings with kisses from another, she intoxicates you, an addiction or a love affair.

Why should I make the effort and try to play your little game?

They say actions speak louder than words,  so why don’t you turn your bullets to bandages,

And your venom into valentines.

But for her sake, not mine.
