January

We were divided
We were suspicious of each other
All jealous of our own unclear authority
We said unwise things,
And took these things personally,
And responded in kind with our own unwise words.
We struck out on our own -
We froze in place or withdrew -
And we most assuredly all hung separately
Some will reconcile in death;
One in victory
We will never forget the things that happened,
But the reasons why, we have tried to.
