Jack vs. Jill
Once upon a time
not long ago,
there lived royal siblings
who lived as foe.
This story is different
than the one you've heard,
compared to the old one
it seems absurd.
Between Jack and Jill
you'll come to see,
how dangerously bad
blood can be.
The twins were being sent
on a journey for their mother,
to seek the potion
that would help her recover.
“Be wise when obtaining the potion”
said the twin’s mother.
Unclear in what she meant
the twins looked confusingly at each other.
“Use your wits and stay alert,”
cautioned the advisor to the queen,
“You must act as one and try not to fight,
you're on the same team.
The potion is not at the top of a hill
like the ones you’re used to.
It can be found at the top of a mountain
and the numbers of survivors are few.
The potion can only be handled
by someone with royal hands.
Take this vial and collect the potion from the well at the top,”
the advisor gave the command.
The twins simultaneously exclaimed
“Mother we won't let you down!”
And they finally set off on their journey
Towards the mountain, outside of town
The twins climbed and climbed
But Jack began to get cold feet,
However Jill was focused on her goal,
And decided the mission would be complete.
She continued to climb further up
until she finally reached the mountain’s tip,
She spotted the well and began pouring all of the potion into the vial
until its final drip.
The final drops were poured into the vial
And off Jill went
After securing the potion in her bag
She began her descent.
Further down the mountain
Jack was still a hot mess
But fortunately Jill had arrived
And she told him of her success.
Jill showed off the vial as proof
And Jack swiped it with a snatching motion.
Jack threw the vial at the side of the mountain,
Spilling all of the potion.
Jill screamed “Hey! What have you done?
Have you gone completely mad?”
Jack said calmly “On the contrary,
Dear sister. I am quite glad.
Now I can finally be king,
well once mother dies of course.
And once I get rid of you
I won’t feel an ounce of remorse.”
Jack then lunged at Jill,
hoping to scare her so she’d slip.
But she dodged and pushed him back,
And unfortunately that would be Jack’s last trip.
Jill climbed down the rest of the mountain
Where she found out that as Jack fell down,
He had hit his head and died
And beside him laid his broken crown.
She collected all of the recognizable
Pieces to the crown.
Panicking Jill ditched her royal clothing
and hopped on a bus that took her out of town.
Beside the mountain laid the Jack’s body,
Cold and the bones all jumbled.
Soon the queen passed away, and with no heir
the monarchy eventually crumbled.
