Jabberwocky Response

She glared at the sky in wonder,

Feet in the glossy emerald grass,

A powerful wind did gale—

All was okay,

But the sun would soon fail.

She watched as a painter littered the sky with careless strokes—

Never failing to render beauty as chaos,

And creating a slight satisfaction in her stomach.

She felt the world around her warm like a controlled burn.

But as suddenly as the heat had come,

The heat had left—left her to the sky.

Her gaze fell and saddened at her loss,

Feeling quite alone.

Not knowing that her companion would soon show itself in the light of many.

Although smaller, the brightness would be the same.

She glared at the sky in wonder,

Feet in the glossy emerald grass,

A powerful wind did gale—

All was okay,

But the sun would soon fail.
