IVY
We were walking in a crowd,
when plenty smiles turned into frowns,
and the children kept on playing, not
watching us turn around, we stepped
into a dark hallway, watching them
turn away, we stepped off the balcony
alone in our heads, victims estranged,
pain circling in our bellies, bullies
tormenting us for days, one got their
mother taken away, but she turned out
okay, one had a mother who wasn't
there in the way she should have been,
and she cut herself to take the pain away,
and one was just left alone for too long, with
each passing day, the monsters growing wild
in me,
