I've Seen

Wed, 01/11/2017 - 17:31 -- Nia1999

I've seen through my eyes,

A world laid out before me.

A world that's experienced a year of growth,

A year of pain,

A year of change.

A lot can happen in a year,

The discovery of a new hobby,

A break up that wrecks your heart,

A new school laid out before you,

New friends that all surround you.

I've seen through my eyes,

A world laid out before me.

For I have seen,

The election of a new president,

Animal abuse laws become strict,

Apello being destroyed.

I've seen through my eyes,

A world laid out before me.

And with these eyes I have experienced,

That which the world has to offer.

The happiness of love,

And the pain that it can bring.

The anxiety of giving a speech,

And the courage it takes to present it.

The excitement at discovering a new hobby,

And the joy of learning all about it.

Through these eyes I have seen,

A world laid out for the taking.

Ripe opportunities

and growing insecurities.

I have loved,

I have played,

I have learned.

And now the clock has turned again,

Bringing upon me,

The Country,

The World,

A new year.

I've seen through my eyes,

A world laid out before me.
