I've Been Wrong Before

I’ve warned you that

I’m a runner

I never stay in one place

for fear of becoming emotionally

attached to something that

I have to possibility to lose

You have to understand

That everyone who’s ever told me

That they loved me

That they would be there for me

Didn’t mean it

So one day I stopped believing them

And I think you’re different

I think you’re telling the truth

But I’ve thought that before

And I’ve been wrong before too
