It's not just physical

Litchfield Park
United States

The teachers don't care

Care about whether or not you're suffering

Suffering not just on the outside, but on the inside.

Inside it feels like you're drowning

Drowning in all the thoughts inside.

They can't see that inside your head, you're screaming

Screaming for somebody to help you

Someone to take all the suffering from you.

The teachers need to know that some people suffer

Not just outside, but inside

1 out of 5 students suffer from depression.

They need to learn the truth

The truth about mental health.

Learn the signs of suffering.

Help students that are in need

Let them know that you are there to help

Let them see that you care.

Care about their future.

Guide that inspired this poem:

I wrote this because teachers need to know the signs of adolescent depression. Students aren't just going to come out and tell their teachers.
