It's going to come

Sam Cooke said "Change gonna come,"

but all I hear is a distant hum.

I hear the hum of the future, but others believe it's a rumor.

"America isn't gonna change," they say as they are beaten like dogs on the streets.

But I still tell them the beats of the future is getting louder!

pull aside and then toss aside as I am beaten for my race.

But I learned to embrace my race because I am strong.

Strong enough to wait for change.

Where racial prejudice is a thing of the past,

Where we come to accept our past,

Where we stop sugar coating things like It wasn't so bad

but things was bad

to have to be drag

to protect someone else's flag

during a time that wasn't so rad

But I was kinda glad

that we came to protect their flag

glad that we could grow together to be rad dads

but a few things need to be re-arrange for

change can come.
