Invisible Girl

I'm just the girl in the back of the room.

You look right through me, even thought I'm right in front of you.

I'm just the girl in the back of the room.

I have no friends, no family.

My presence is glimpsed at the edge of your consciousness.

I'm just the girl in the back of the room.

I don't participate, speak, or move.

The teachers grades my papers, but I am just a number to them.

When the teacher asks where I am, none of you recognize the name.

I'm just the girl in the back of the room.

I disappeared, but you didn't know.

To you, I'm just an outline with no soul, no features.

I'm just the girl in the back of the room.

Except that I'm not anymore.

Now, I'm just the girl lying six feet under.
