Inside a Confused Mind

The innocence you share with me,

surrenders in empty bliss.

I fall in a fantasy,

float in a toxic sky.

Maybe I’m just a poison

you can’t let go of.

The world inside my heart

dances to disillusionment’s edge,

for your spirit starves for silence.

It’s hard for me to beat

my addiction to you;

it’s masochistic

how I keep my love in a bottle

while you run your arms through her hair.

You’re better in your shackles,

and I’m sick with the consequences.

Don’t stand in my light,

you’ll ruin my sunshine.

My tiger tongue is a mess for you,

but beauty kills vanity.

I imagine my lifetime

will run away with the music

into the tragic night.
