Insecurity

I've grown up

I was never sure enough,

whether or not the experiences I trudged through were triumphs

or screw ups.

The day he walked in, snuck up on me

dark skin, black hair, making me question how I'm supposed to be.

Today I look back and see what he was

His name Insecurity and he changed me a lot because,

no matter how much I tried to forget about him, bring things back to how it was before,

but as soon as he walked in I wasn't a kid anymore.

I aged beyond my years, he was so corruptive,

because now, sadly I cared what people thought of me on a higher octave.

But now I know it was bound to happen,

because with adulthood comes the fear of judgement and not fitting in,

now I've learned how to embrass him, Insecurity you see,

has helped me create and become a better me.

Power, strength, confidence, intelligence, maturity and more

are greater all thanks to my friend Insecurity and hint he has way more in store.
