Insecurity

The fluorescent lights blare all around

but still in a shadow do I drown.

The seclusion of my world from society

brings me only to believe you are more than me.

Like a departing plane, friendhsip shall fly.

To my existence they turn a blind eye.

For every beaming smile

is a stream of tears the length of a mile.

If I knew how to open the doors to my mind,

maybe happiness wouldn't be the hardest thing to find.
