Injustice

Location

When we live through it, we pretend it’s not there,And we turn a blind eye, and we just don’t careLater we survey the damage and ask:How could we ignore our task? We were heedless to the devil's danceIn our own world we maintained our stanceAnd now all we have left is regretThe books and movies make us fret We may forget that people had to endureWhat we watched on TV and tried to obscureWhere was our compassion, humanity and love?Ignoring injustice is something to be ashamed of It might feel too late, too many people have diedMen, women and children who wanted us on their side!Instead of turning to them, we turned away,As hundreds of people were murdered everyday But wait a second; it’s not over yet,And we still have that chance before we regret. Then why not take advantage of it, and be human? We fail to realize this isn’t just kindness, but our obligation! So before we look back and count the losses,Why don’t we try to be our own bosses? Before we cry, mourning injustice that already hit,Why don’t we step up once and for all to *stop* it?
