Why do I find you striking?
Is it your beaded eyes similar to an owl?
Your wit and intelligence?
Or even your taste in fashion?

I wonder for days how it could be.
I never thought I would feel this way.
In fact, I might be infatuated.
Or maybe feel stronger even.

We have been best friends,
For as long as we can remember.
And now I've grown,
To have feelings for you.

This was the problem.
I am the problem.
Can two people of opposite genders,
Stay friends with no romantic interest on another?

I thought we could make it.
Stay as friends, you know?
But it's different now.
At least, it is, for me.
