I'm a man

I'm a man,

Real men have integrity;

I hope to leave a legacy,

That people may remember me,

And say even after I am gone:

"That man was giving";

Even to those he thought were wrong

Popular culture tells us men should live for themselves;

That we should be overly masculine:

And seek many women,

More fame or reckognition,

A new car in the driveway,

A bigger house,

More money,

Take what you can, when you can,

And ask nothing from me:

Men should not show weakness,

This is also a lie

Oftentimes I feel broken and lost

Times I wish I could cry

That is true strength if you ask me

To admit defeat

A strong man is humble

That's the man I hope to be
