Igbo Evil

 Igbo Evil (pg 18, 61, 77, 122, 148, 150)

A superstitious pain,

Listen as a mother weeps,

Watch for the wicked child,

Wait for another death,

Feel the bitterness.

Shaped of death,

Smell of poison,

Unbearable and incurable,

Of another world,

Feel Fear.

Home for those not good enough to die,

Pots of the dead,

Listen to hear the infants scream,

Those who cure,

Put with the incurable,

Land given to kill,

Land given to frighten,

And land given to drive out;

Sense death,

Feel unwanted.

Traditions of evil,

People of evil,

Places of evil,

This is Igbo’s evils.
