If This Is Friendship I Don't Want It

I know your deepest secrets.

Do you know mine?

I know when you are happy

And when you are sad.

Can you tell the same for me?

I know your favorite moments

And the ones where you felt like you would break.

Are you capable of pointing out mine?

I have helped you rise from the suffocating darkness

You have enflicted upon yourself.

Have you done the same for me?

I have listened when you needed me

Comforted you

And told you what you needed to hear.

But when I come to you its

"I've been through the same,

You'll live." or

"Stop complaining.

Go get a life."

Here you stand before me again

Spouting a random tale

And expecting me to praise you.

This time I won't say anything

I'll walk away

And say "hello" to someone new.

You look at me expectantly,

A smile on your face

I panic, nod and smile back.

I'm fine

Thanks for not asking.
