You ask how I feel, what I want
But you never hear my reply, my response
Too busy listening to what you wanted me to say
You, like all the rest, have pushed me away.
If I told you, If I made you listen,
You may be surprised
At all I have seen
Through these young eyes
I watched as the union that began my life
evaporated slowly under stress
words once sacred
Husband
Wife
Thrown now like weapons
Glares like knives
Possessions once "ours"
Becoming "MINE!"
Moments of love becoming lies
Then, at last, a knock at the door
Excitement! A saviour at last!
But nothing so savory
Nothing so secure!
Instead, the words
You can't live here anymore
Foster Care
Wards of State
Suitcases, packing
Glaring at the woman slowly dragging
Our family apart
Eyes pleading for help,
Heart freeezing as echoes
hit the car
This is Your fault
Your Fault!
I hate you!
YOU LET THEM TAKE MY SON!
OH, HE'S YOUR SON NOW?
YOU LET THEM TAKE MY DAUGHTERS!
My son
My, mine, mine
When did we become trophies?
Do something!
Fix it,
No more
MINE'
MINE
MINE
MINE
MINE!
Love each other!
Love us!
Don't let her take us!
But no one hears.....
