I Was There
I was standing by your bedside,
Holing your hand
The night bfore you died
I was there
Hoping you felt my human touch
While I was holding your hand
Wanting you to know that I loved you so much
Through it all, I was there
Just know that was me,
Although your eyes grew old and dim,
Knowing that you couldn't see
I was there
Even though we will miss you,
You are in a safe place
I'm sure you know what we are going through
I was there
