I Want

I want a million dollars.
I want a new phone.
I want an 'A' in class.
I want,
I want,
I want.

Do you know what I want?
I want people to stop looking inward and start looking out.
I want selfishness to become selflessness,
for people to forget about personal gain and focus on helping others.

I want to better myself.
to go out and make this world a better place.
I want people to recognize our problems.
I want them to advertise ways to fix them.
I want them to unify,
I want them to objectify,
to publicize,
to apologize for any wrongdoing so we can harmonize.

Like Ash Ketchum,
I want to be the very best,
But instead of catching them all I want to release some love into our world.

I want to change our ideas of fear.
You see, we fear fear.
It is prevalent in our atmosphere.
It is swirling,
whirling,
twirling,
coming near,
can't you hear what I am saying?

I want to be pushed.
I want to be challenged.
Things should never be easy enough to be bored.
I want teachers to inspire my desire to learn.
I want to learn how to
read,
write,
act,
behave,
think,
touch,
taste,
smell,
love,
and everything in between.
I want to prove that education is important.
That's why I wanted to be a teacher.
But not only a teacher.
I want to be a mentor,
a role model,
a friend,
a hero.

I want to save the world from the worst villain to ever walk this earth.
I want people to realize that public enemy number one isn't a specific person but a trait we all exhibit.
I want to show that the world's problems reside in us all.
We are all to blame for all the hatred,
coursing,
seeping,
thriving within our lives.

I want to live to see the day where we all put down our guns to pick up our morals.
I want us to see that we have more in common than we have in differences.
We all see the same moon,
hurt when loved ones die,
hear the cries of the innocent.
We all breath the same air.
We are all made up of the same particles as stars,
leaves,
water,
the very essences of life itself.

I want us to find our similarities.
Lets agree to disagree.
The sooner we agree the sooner we will see that we were all meant to be free
from evil and tyranny.

I want my children, and their children's children to grow up in a world where the only hate that exists is the hate for hate.
Because before we know it, we may be too late.
