I Think Not - The Nymph's Uncensored Response to a Pastoral by Christopher Marlowe

Why would you ever think I'd be

Willing to accompany

You to every place you please?

I'm not so easy to appease.

Your words spoke of far away places,

Material things, forgotten faces.

I did not enjoy reading your time.

Don't waste your breath, don't waste your time.

You just assumed I would agree

To everything you proposed to me.

I bet it takes a lot of gumption

To make such a wide assumption.

I simply want to make it clear,

I really can't accept, my dear.

Your poem made a great impact,

I found it lacking class and tact.
