I saw it

i saw what had been and what could have been

I saw the rain run towards me to hide my tears

I saw the pavement earase every step that i had taken

I saw and felt my soul awaken the beast inside me that was in hibernation

she was ready to shake the nation I saw myself in her firey red eyes 

I saw her looking back at me as she lefted her head nad called out the sea

I saw the waves rise to her command 

I saw it

I saw the skin she shedded that consumed chains to hold her down.

I saw something that day and it changed me
