As I Rise

Location

I don’t believe that you are empty, that parts of you disappeared. You are the thing that has let me breathe and set me free.

I don’t believe that you are trapped, especially by your own hand. How can you be chained when you save me? How can something locked be my key?

You are nothing but good, nothing but pure light (especially when you smile). You are divine to me and a mystery, like blue and purple flames that crawl up the skin. Not to burn, but to caress and lift me as I rise.

My favorite line in your poem was, "You are nothing but good, nothing but pure light (especially when you smile)". Generous people that care enough to help others realize their true potentials are not aware of the lovely potential within him or her as well. With these colorful lines, you have induced a sense of appreciation for these unrecognized heroes of the world! :)

Thanks again. This is supposed to represent my partner and how he makes me feel better no matter what. He says things like this (although not in poetry form :D ) all the time. I made these three poems in honor of him.
