I promise

I promise you he loves me

Every night he kisses my hair

The bruises will fade he swears

I promise you he loves me

Some people say I’m naive

He says he’ll never let me leave

I promise you he loves me

I listened to what he said love is

My body is considered his

I promise you he loves me

He says I've never shined so bright

Then why am I crying every night

I tried to tell but no one cares

Because love hurts...right?

But I learned that I am my own person

I‘ve found someone who showed me what love really is

Love is

Leaving a kiss not a scar

Love is

Him showing you how beautiful you really are

Love is

Not hatered or malice

Love is

Not callus

Just because he says it

Doesn’t make it true

I’m telling you all this
