I Need Sleep

All I need is sleep.

I get plenty on the weekends, but not much during the week.

I often go to bed to late; then just lay there wanting to eat,

While midnight snacks are good,

And I generally love food,

I remember my mom telling me it's unhealthy to eat before bed;

So I lay there thinking, mulling over my day instead.

Obligations, homework, the girls that smiled at me earlier;

My mind provides endless cheerful chatter.

When I finally drift off, it's blissful and quiet...

Beep! Beep! Beep!

It's my alarm warning of that 8:00 am class

I am tired and complacent;

I want to skip it, but I go...

I love sleep. I cherish every moment.

I can relax each night and drop my worries...

And dreams are free entertainment;

When I can find that I take it,

Which is something that I have learned in college.

I need a break from the daily stress and knowlege;

I need sleep.
