I love the universe/Pay my rent.
Location
The moon is surrounded.
I work in a diner by a ring of haze because I have to.
I stretch out
They are greasy and dirty
my arms, filled with greasy dirty men.
My span is so small next to the cooks who yell out to the women running by,
the span of the trees and the mountains that surround me.
Even though I am the only one that can hear them.
It is dark but Men come in.
I know the grass is green and
tell me I am pretty and full of life.
Apparently that is not enough.
The soil will soak up whatever rain the sky gives to get a decent tip.
I love the way they show me their nipple rings,
I feel so small in my place in the universe
they ask who I sleep with.
I love even the boy with freckles
the way I feel in my place in the universe
and nice eyes asks for my number.
I love one of the cooks who touches my shoulders
and my place in the universe
and asks me on dates.
and I am just trying to love the universe.
Pay my rent.
