I Hear My Highschool Singing

I hear my highschool singing, the varied carols I hear,

Those of athletes, each one singing his as it should be: loud and strong.

The outspoken ones, ringing their messages from the rooftops

The brilliant ones, as they study the whole night through.

The crazy ones, wasting their days to revel in the glory of night's wonder.

The lost ones, begging others to help them find their way.

The dark ones, arguing within themselves as they try to sleep.

The different ones, preparing for the day when differences won't matter.

The amazing ones, pushing for their future's greatness.

All of them together

Singing with open mouths their strong melodious songs.
