I Found Myself in a Deep Dark Wood
I found myself in a deep dark wood
Whose trees towered like skyscrapers tall
Inundating the sky with branches bare
So that there was little light
To navigate my way across
And, like a sailor stranded
At sea I was lost.
I took a pause
To sleep a little
So as to divert my mind in pleasant dreams,
But I couldn't sleep,
For every time I tried to slumber
The wood rattled
And resonated with piercing shrieks.
