I feel nothing, nothing evermore

Death,

I see it everywhere,

In the street corners,

In the houses,

On the rooftops,

Everywhere.

I see friends falling all around me,

Falling to the bullets of the enemy.

I am have been numbed,

Numbed by the carnage of war.

I felt nothing,

As I shot the man in front of me.

I felt nothing,

As I threw a grenade

Into the house,

And heard the screams of the innocent,

As they burned, their limbs blown off,

As their life, forever, was extinguished.

Anguish,

Torment,

Sorrow,

Anger,

Fear,

Loss.

All these I felt after my friend got shot.

But now,

I feel nothing.

No anger,

No pain,

No fear,

No anguish,

Nothing.

All feeling

Was blown away.

The shards of glass,

Piercing my face,

The blood,

A gruesome tapestry

On the wall

I feel nothing,

Nothing, evermore.

I really like the imagery of this poem. I think listing the emotions was kinda cool, but it would be easier to relate to if you used concrete images to show those feelings rather than just list them out.

Quite a sad, moving piece. Keep writing!!
