I Don't Wanna Be Your Secret Anymore
I don't wanna be that stranger looking through your door.
Feeling as if I'm drowning in water and crying for you to bring me ashore.
Sadly laying in that fetal position thinking that I will be that hand that you're missing.
I don't wanna be a lonely soul that is looking for his vessel.
I don't wanna be that broken tool you throw away.
I don't wanna be a slave anymore.
To mankind I'm something of a pawn on a chess board,
but to the universe I'm something of a system;
something of a position or maybe I'm just a foundation.
But I'll be damned to go on without respect.
Respect for my existence,
for my protection, and for my love that I have given.
I am wise, I am old,
but I will not be mistaken for a lifeless possession.
I'm the most valuable thing to man,
but I'm also the only thing they can't turn over.
If you haven't already figured out what I am,
then I am more ashamed to birth you, to hold you, and to treat you of royalty.
I am the gravity that will hold you,
I am the land that hides you, and I am the water that hydrates you.
I am Earth: hear me protest about my independence,
hear me take my first step for vengeance,
hear me take the foundation underneath your feet and crumble it,
hear me take the gravity that once toke hold of you and
unravel the strings that allowed you to pursue,
hear me bring the waters forth and
above to swallow your hatred and corruption,
and hear me collapses the skies to imprison the survivors.
I am Earth, hear me roar, because I'm the last noise you will ever hear, sincerely yours.
