I confess

Every morning

I wake

From a night full of rest

Just to confess

That I should've slept

For more than I did.

With a mind full of thoughts

And questions that aught

To be answered

But for now

I confess

That I should've slept

For more than I did.

A day full of school

College classes

And more

Requires a little

Brain power

Which means that

I should've slept

For more than I did

Even if hardships

From the day before

Leak into my mind

And try to distort

How I feel about waking up

In the morning

I can just blame it

On the rest from

The night before

And as I crawl into bed

I think to myself

Get some more sleep tonight

So I can tackle

The bright future

In my morning tomorrow

But I confess

I should've slept

For more than I did
