I climb

Sun, 01/25/2015 - 19:48 -- mayafm

From the ground we built up

Saying they can't break us

We made our own way

Claimining we're here to stay

Back then we were certain

But no longer will the fence we built keep us in

There lies what's left of what once stood tall

Our structure that could not fall

What once towered is gone

Along with the life we made

So with the time we have left

We'll both be bereft

Because all we had was what we had together

Live life anew, but still without you

Sometimes I feel good

But then I crash back to the ground

From the heights on which I stood

I can't show these feelings, hide them away,

Where they can't be found

Step by step, I climb

I will reach the sky yet again

But without you and your encouraging hand
