I Can Fly

I thought that i could fly - like the birds so high in the sky.

But i never learned how to take flight, letting all the opportunities pass me by.

I was a blue jay in a cage full of canaries

A peafowl on the same island as peacocks -

Never truly belonging in the place i was apparently

Supposed to belong.

But, i got out of that cage and off that island

Learning how to fly elsewhere -

On the busy and mean streets of NYC
