I Believe

Location

I Believe…

When I look up at the sky

I see the future generations

Listening to music that has no interpretation,

Violence and poverty across the nation.

Could this future generation be the one who pushes us through

From this endless cycle of oppression

As well as society’s restrictions on self-expression

Where everyone can be truly equal like they promised in the Constitution?

Standing up for myself like Rosa Parks did and start a revolution

To be able to accomplish my dreams like Dr. King.

The American Dream is what gives us motivation

So that our children have a good education

To not be ashamed of where they come from

Not being labeled for what we choose to be

To say “Yeah, we are American” without hesitation

Creating a better tomorrow in reality not just in our imagination.
