I am.. A young African American Girl

I am a young African American Girl,

I wonder why my race is sometimes not accepted,

I hear people being biased,

I see others making a bad name for the rest,

I want a change,

I am a young African American Girl

I pretend like sticks and stones can't break my bones,

I feel like a equally important person,

I touch upon the important things in life,

I worry that there is never hope for us,

I cry tears of sorrow and joy; Mixed emotions

I am a young African American girl

I understand the past history,

I say the"I have a dream Speech",

I try to understand African American history more,

I hope to make more of a difference,

I am a young African American Girl
