I am sick of loveAnd

Wed, 10/09/2019 - 11:28 -- A Finch

I am sick of love

And yet I ask in vain denial;

Do not thyself remove

But stay with me awhile.

If just to pass the crawl of time

For time is all we own.

And life so short it seems a crime

To spend it all alone.

The sun and moon share their light,

The stars all sing together.

Mars himself would quit the fight

To have Venus for his lover.

Though I am sick of love dear,

I ask one thing of you.

Stay awhile with me here

As all real lover’s do.
