That I am Sad

I imagine what you're supposed to learn from poetry -

poetry;

beautiful words, written beautifully -

you're supposed to learn love is real.

You're supposed to learn that it gets better but I - I didn't learn that.

I wrote what I felt and when I read over it, I learned I was sad.

I learned all of my poems were about loss, because I was in a constant state of loosing.

That my poems were about pain, because I was hurting.

and there were none about love, because I had nothing beautiful to write about it.

I had no beautiful words to put into finite beautiful sentences to write about love.

And that meant I did not know it.
