I am.
I am 5,
My playground is
An open field
To me
it is full of animals
And buildings.
To you,
Young adult,
It is full of weeds and grass.
I am now 7,
That field is my battleground
My brother beside me
Yelling commands like a madman
Of soon to blow grenades.
The grass is tall a skyscraper
and perfect for comfort.
I am now the 16
My license is my ticket.
I can go anywhere
my tank will allow.
Friends all around
And food on the floors.
My car is my life.
I am now 18,
Life is really tough,
I am now on my own.
I have these bills,
An apartment and car.
That field,
It is full of weeds and grass.
I see no animals,
I see no war,
I see empty space
For a child to explore.
