I Am

Sean Pyles

I Am

I am "Sean don't touch that" and "Leave me alone,"

I am "Stop being a brat" and "Comb your hair,"

I am "Mom stop crying it will get better,"

I am "Whens dad coming back from work?"

I am "Dads not coming home,"

I am the cockroach infested house we lived in,

I am the river of tears my mom cried,

I am the girl who just wasn't that smart,

I am the mixed mutt that no one wanted,

I am the equation some one forgot to solve,

I am the dark days I couldn't come back from,

I am the shadow kids try to step on,

I am the pain that life brought me,

I am the gasps of air that can't quite get to my lungs,

I am the alcohol my grandpa couldn't stop drinking,

I am the broken figure trying to pick myself up,

I am the light that breaks through the cracks,

I am the sun rising high up to the sky never to be stopped,

I am the shield that reflects all of your insults,

I am the intrepid soul that brought me to where I am,

I am more than I was made out to be.
