Hypocrites to Minorities

Location

Ignorant, stupid, poor.

The fundamental ideas of who they think we are.

Want to be civilized? You’re trying to be them.

Want to be educated? You think you’re better than them.

Want to be a success? You can only achieve that if you’ve got a ball or a mic in your hand.

They see the few whose luck ran out, but all they can say is “why don’t you just go get a job.”

But from where will this job arrive?

From the education we were denied because of you?

From the lack of acceptance in the white collared world?

From the ghettos we are repressed in?

We are the minorities.

We want nothing more than an equal chance.

We deserve at least the equal chance.

But oh when the minorities become the majority, what then?

Will we be allowed to basque in the success we have come to be?

Or guilt-ridden by the ones who believe they are three times the man we claim to be.

Hypocrites to minorities.

In the buildings or on our knees, Nothing will sooth the soul of hypocrites to minorities.
