How a Person Knows

A individual knows they’re loved

If a person shows they care

When they don’t leave a person wondering if they’re here or there

They say how they feel, what they think, what they do

Communication is honesty

Not a response to a text

If a person truly listens

When they engage and answer earnestly

Maintain a conversation

Avoid a monologue, are attentive, patient

Not an “mhm” or “wait what”

If a person take responsibility

For their actions, for their words

When they know what they have to do

Acknowledge their mistakes, learn the error of their ways

Not excusing unforgivable actions justified by emotion

If a person does the little things

When they give that needed hug, or dry your endless tears

They always say show not tell

But they do not know

How good it feels to be told

I love you
