The buildings flash by, swallowed in the sun.
I reach out one last time
Searching
For things gone by, and things to come.
I yearn for a place to land
But the buildings continue to slip on by.
One, two, three, four, five,
I used to count
Years left, days marked.
One, two, three, four, five,
Oh how I used to count.
A once seeming eternity flew when I blinked.
I continue to watch the cityscape fade.
How fast one had come.
How fast life had changed.
