how can i help

The sense of relief

To know we’re fine,

But the overcoming worry

Overlaps the calm,

Because i know

You are far from fine.

Filling your body with alcohol,

Just so you can cope.

Rather numb the pain

Then to deal with it at all.

I wish there was something i could do,

But i just sit here and hope

I can see the storm

Raging in your mind.

Your light blue and gray eyes,

Now turned midnight

when you gazed at mine.

Just from a look,

You said it all.

No words spoken,

This act is a call.

A call for help.

The helplessness

That radiated from you.

I wish you would have told me,

I wish I magically knew,

I wish there was anything I could do.
