HourGlass

Looking through the hourglass
years pass like hours pass
afraid to ask things
no one asks
it would mean you
were the accuser
who took advantage of every person
who came across your path
the good life
you say you want it
but you keep running from it
behind the past
comes to remind you
of all you lack
pulls your inner insecurities
fears you find it hard to face
when you do
you hear them laugh
disconnected slowly fading away
ones concerned
I don't even call back
another friend burned
How I do it without
even thinking of it
I want to quit
they all around slip
into my consciousness
my end comes quicker
than I least expect
