Hope is a burden

Bestowed upon

Very few of us

In the current times

But some do not know its

Burdensomeness, asking

How can hope be so heavy?

Because, because we

Are charged to give it to each

Person that our lives

Intersect with

To dole out what others

Cannot obtain for themselves

To hand over their

Way out of despair

Rarely thanked

Seldom noticed in toil

But to give

To give such a gift

Lightens out burden

For with hope-giving

Our hearts grow lighter

And brighter, more alive

Rather than

Brightening our own day

We give what was not

Ours to begin with

We give others hope
